New Year, New You

Beginning this year makes me think of "new beginnings". These are some of my favorite times because it is like a fresh slate to start with! Think of it, like no matter how bad you feel like you messed up last year, this is a NEW YEAR, and you have a chance to change the course of your future! This is a message I want to scream out especially to the younger generation because a lot of them view life as if they mess it up, the whole thing is ruined, so why start again? Well, there are many reasons why to start again!
Whether it is your diet, your family, your relationship with God there is always a new start. The question is: Will you allow God to use you this year, and take control of your eating habits, your attitude, or your Bible Study? God is all about fresh starts. Look at Abraham, he gave him a new name, sent him to a new country, and gave him a new nation. Now, if that's not a new start, I don't know what is! Look at Moses, he killed a man, and he still called Moses to be the leader to get the Jews out of Egypt! The Bible is filled with those who God gave second chances, third chances and even beyond because they were willing to jump at the opportunity God placed in front of them.
You might not have a new town to move to, a new school to start in, or anything material like that, but you can have a new start with Christ.  Sometimes I think we get so complacent with God's word and reading it that we forget that no matter how many times we read it there is always something NEW God will show us. He doesn't change, his word doesn't change, but OUR lives Change and his word is sharp and LIVING  and it works in accordance with our lives. It's still January, just barely into January, will you choose to let God make a NEW you for this NEW year? Will I?
I am so excited to see what God is doing in  2012. I pray this is the year of his return, but remember there are others who might not be ready for this return, will we be ready to tell them of the gospel of Jesus Christ? I hope so!

God, Please strengthen me to be a Godly woman, wife, and mother. You deserve the absolute best. Help me to give you the best of me! I pray for a new me this year! I cannot do it without you making intercession, your spirit's guiding, and your father's Love. Thank you, for all you do!

Your Girl,

       Jamie
