One of my biggest time wasters lately has been playing crossword puzzles on my phone. If I cannot go to sleep I play and play until I'm too tire to hold up my phone or the phone falls on my head. As I am going through the list of about 30 different words looking for them in every direction I find one I was looking for. Then I'll find myself stuck on one and cannot find it worth anything. Of course with time being of the essence (to beat my last time), I have to quickly find these words! So I'm searching backward, forward, sideways, and finally.....right there in front of me all the time is the word I've been looking for! There's that twinge of "how didn't see that?", but then there's the joy of knowing I did find it.
How many times has God told me something only for me to keep on looking and looking in other places and it's sitting right in front of me. It's like he told Elijah in 1 Kings 19. Elijah was running and the Spirit of God was leading him. Jezebel wanted Elijah dead, and didn't want it any other way. In verse 11 God says to Elijah "Go, stand on the mountan at attention before God. God will pass by." 12 : and after the earthquake fire, but God wasn't in the fre; and after the fire a gentle and quiet whisper."
How many times in our lives do we want the BIG, the Easy, the Loud exciting things in life that we overlook the mundane things that might do more for God's glory than that BIG thing? Look at David, he was just a shepherd boy, but God chose him to be KING. A little shepherd boy?! Jesus was to come from the town of Bethlehem in a stable; raised in Nazareth to which someone replied "can anythng good come from Nazareth?"
Are you feeling down today, like no one cares, like what you're doing isn't enough? Let me assure you that if you are striving to serve the Lord whether you are the Shepherd or the King you will be rewarded in Heaven. Just remember with great privelege comes great responsibility!
God, father in Heaven, thank you for choosing me to be your Child even when I haven't always wanted to serve you you still saw the righteousness of your son's blood covering my heart! I need you father, speak to me, whisper in my ear your sayings and your words of wisdom that I might grow in you!

New Year, New You
Beginning this year makes me think of "new beginnings". These are some of my favorite times because it is like a fresh slate to start with! Think of it, like no matter how bad you feel like you messed up last year, this is a NEW YEAR, and you have a chance to change the course of your future! This is a message I want to scream out especially to the younger generation because a lot of them view life as if they mess it up, the whole thing is ruined, so why start again? Well, there are many reasons why to start again!
Whether it is your diet, your family, your relationship with God there is always a new start. The question is: Will you allow God to use you this year, and take control of your eating habits, your attitude, or your Bible Study? God is all about fresh starts. Look at Abraham, he gave him a new name, sent him to a new country, and gave him a new nation. Now, if that's not a new start, I don't know what is! Look at Moses, he killed a man, and he still called Moses to be the leader to get the Jews out of Egypt! The Bible is filled with those who God gave second chances, third chances and even beyond because they were willing to jump at the opportunity God placed in front of them.
You might not have a new town to move to, a new school to start in, or anything material like that, but you can have a new start with Christ. Sometimes I think we get so complacent with God's word and reading it that we forget that no matter how many times we read it there is always something NEW God will show us. He doesn't change, his word doesn't change, but OUR lives Change and his word is sharp and LIVING and it works in accordance with our lives. It's still January, just barely into January, will you choose to let God make a NEW you for this NEW year? Will I?
I am so excited to see what God is doing in 2012. I pray this is the year of his return, but remember there are others who might not be ready for this return, will we be ready to tell them of the gospel of Jesus Christ? I hope so!
God, Please strengthen me to be a Godly woman, wife, and mother. You deserve the absolute best. Help me to give you the best of me! I pray for a new me this year! I cannot do it without you making intercession, your spirit's guiding, and your father's Love. Thank you, for all you do!
